Ayurvedic Lifestyle Advice

Elevating your wellbeing with the healing power of Ayurveda

Ayurvedic Consultations in Weston-super-Mare & Online

I offer personalised Ayurvedic consultations in Weston-super-Mare and online, helping you understand your unique constitution and make practical lifestyle changes to support balance in everyday life.

Rooted in the traditional wisdom of Ayurveda, these consultations explore diet, digestion, daily routines, stress patterns, and seasonal living to support long-term wellbeing.

What Happens in an Ayurvedic Consultation?

During an Ayurvedic consultation, we explore your current health, lifestyle habits, digestion, sleep patterns, and stress levels.

Through this process, we identify your Ayurvedic constitution (dosha) and any imbalances that may be present.

You will then receive personalised recommendations which may include dietary guidance, daily routines, seasonal practices, and supportive yoga or lifestyle adjustments designed to restore balance.

What Is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that has its roots in India. It is often considered one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems, with origins dating back over 5,000 years. In traditional practice, these two disciplines, Ayurveda and Yoga, are often referred to as ‘sister sciences’ and are used together.

If you’d like a deeper introduction to the foundations of Ayurveda, you can read my guide:
“Ayurveda 101 – An Introduction to Ayurvedic Principles.”

Also known as the ‘science of life’, Ayurveda is a comprehensive system of healthcare that focuses on achieving and maintaining a balance of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It is based on the idea that health and wellness are dependent on a harmonious balance between the body, mind, and spirit and that imbalances in these areas can lead to illness.

The Ayurvedic system adheres to fundamental principles to uphold this equilibrium within every individual. These are:

Doshas

Ayurveda categorises individuals into three primary constitutional types, or doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each dosha represents a unique combination of elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether) and influences a person’s physical and mental characteristics.

Balance & Imbalance

Ayurveda emphasises the importance of maintaining a balance of the doshas for optimal health. Imbalances can occur due to various factors, such as diet, lifestyle, stress, and environmental influences.

Treatment

Ayurvedic treatments typically involve a combination of herbal remedies, dietary adjustments, lifestyle modifications, specific yoga & meditation guidance, and other holistic practices to restore balance and promote well-being.

Individualised Care

Ayurveda recognises that each person is unique, and treatment plans are tailored to an individual’s constitution and specific health needs. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach!

Prevention

Ayurveda places a strong emphasis on preventive healthcare to avoid the development of diseases and imbalances.

My Ayurvedic Healing Journey

Ayurveda has been a profound part of my own personal healing journey.

For many years I lived with a complex combination of chronic health challenges, including endometriosis, chronic fatigue, and CPTSD. Like many people navigating long-term illness, I spent a long time searching for ways to better understand my body and support my wellbeing in a sustainable way.

It was through yoga and Ayurveda that I began to develop a different relationship with my health. Rather than constantly fighting symptoms, these practices helped me cultivate awareness, patience, and a deeper understanding of how lifestyle, stress, digestion, and daily rhythms affect the body and mind.

During my time in India I had the opportunity to undergo Panchakarma, a traditional Ayurvedic cleansing and rejuvenation process designed to help restore balance within the system. It was a powerful and deeply reflective experience that gave me further insight into the depth of Ayurvedic healing practices.

I documented parts of that journey in a short video series, sharing what the process involves and what it was like to experience it first-hand.

If you’re curious about Panchakarma or about how Ayurveda can support people living with complex health challenges, you can watch the videos here.
